Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve used recruiting firms in the past with mixed results. What makes the Chamizal Consulting Group any better?
Our business model is very different from other recruiting shops (we know, we used to work for them). We have eliminated many of the conflicts of interest and hassles that exist when working with most search firms.
In what way?
First, our fees are never influenced by the candidate’s salary. We seek to be paid for our time and expertise, rather than for closing the deal. This can cut your candidate acquisition costs by as much as 75%.
Second, we enjoy an exclusive relationship with most of our clients, and we are contractually bound not to work with any of their competitors in their local markets. Our goal is to become an integral part of your team and a support to your existing HR personnel.
Third, our contracts are simple with no hidden strings attached. You’ll never have a reason to regret working with our firm.
Do other search firms employ the same model?
Not that we know of.
The larger staffing agencies warn us against small independent shops. They say that they have access to more resources and better candidates, and that only they have a “proven method” of recruiting the best people. What do you say about that?
This may have been true fifteen years ago, but not any more. Today’s technologies have leveled the playing field tremendously in this regard. We generally have the very same tools, and access to the same candidates, as the larger agencies have, at a much lower cost.
Your prices seem so low; there must be a trade off somewhere.
Our prices are low because our overhead is low. Truth be told, we actually make more money this way. Yes, the prices are lower, but we keep more of what comes in for ourselves, so everyone wins.
Where does the name “Chamizal” come from?
The Chamizal Consulting Group, LLC takes its name from the Chamizal National Memorial, located between El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. For nearly 100 years, ownership of the Chamizal area was disputed between the U.S. and Mexico. The issue was eventually settled peacefully in 1963. Today, the Chamizal is a National Memorial where citizens of both countries can mix freely. Our consulting group was named as a tribute to the efforts demonstrated by the people on both sides of the border who settled the Chamizal dispute.
